~Specializing in European and American Lines~
Hello, and welcome to our website. We are located in a rural area of Northwest Mississippi, just 30 minutes from Memphis, TN. My name is Susan. My husband Brian and I have 2 daughters. Madison is 9 years old, and Macy is 7. We share our home with our 11 year old (neutered) male Manx cat named Ashton, our 13 year old (spayed) female mixed breed dog named Zana, and our 2 Great Danes named Dante' (3 years old) and Medusa (almost 3 years old). We do not keep any of our pets in kennels. They are all inside pets, and treated as members of our family in their “forever“ home. UPDATE: Our family has recently been "adopted" by a stray young male gray tabby cat. He was living inside our fenced backyard where our dogs play. He was extremely thin when we found him. He now has a fat little tummy, and runs to greet us with a meow and a purr. He loves our dogs and rubs faces with them. Our daughters have named him Tiger. He has now received all of his shots, and has been neutered also.
We take Great Dane ownership very seriously, as we feel that all owners should. Owning any large breed dog is a huge responsibility. They must be taught obedience and be properly socialized beginning at an early age to help them develop good manners and social skills. They need to have their very own individual quality time with their owners on a daily basis. They also require an excellent quality food to help them develop properly. We feed our dogs a mixture of 2 differnent foods: 1) Canidae "Formula For All Life Stages" dry food (it is not specifically formulated for adults, puppies, or large breeds). 2) Innova Evo "Red Meat Formula" dry food (which contains Venison, Buffalo, Beef, and Lamb). Please visit our "Links" page to access the links to the Canidae and Innova websites for more information.
Our goal is to produce Great Danes with correct confirmation and a sound temperament, while also concentrating on adding a thicker bone structure with a nice head and more lip like you see in a lot of Euro Danes. We are firm believers in keeping within the Great Dane Club of America’s breeder’s color code guidelines. (Link to these guidelines is on our "Links" page.) Harlequin and Mantle Great Danes should not have ANY Blue, Fawn, or Brindle colors in the first 5 generations of their pedigree. Our Great Danes have color-pure pedigrees for at least 5 generations as recommended by the GDCA. The AKC does not recognize the Merle coloring in the show ring. Therefore, only correctly marked Harlequin, Mantle, and Black puppies with good structure and temperament will be considered for Full AKC Registration. All others will be placed on Limited AKC Registration. We believe that you should NEVER breed any Great Dane, male or female, before the age of 18 months. We believe you should NEVER cull (kill/put to sleep) any puppies due to litter size, weakness, undesirable color, blindness, deafness, or any other unjust reason. We also feel that if a litter produces even 1 puppy that is deaf or blind, then you should NEVER do a repeat breeding between those same 2 Great Danes again (and take the chance of producing more puppies with problems).
Our puppies are whelped and raised inside our home. I am a stay at home Mom, so they are handled from birth and receive constant care. All of our puppies and “Mom” visit our Vet within 24 hours of birth for their 1st exam. They have their 2nd exam at 3-5 days old, and their dew claws removed at that time. They return as needed to receive their age appropriate shots, worm checks and de-worming treatments if necessary, heart-worm preventative, and flea and tick preventative. These are all done by our Vet, not us. Each puppy will come with a kit including its records/charts since birth, Vet record, AKC registration papers, a CD of pictures since birth, photos of the entire litter, photos of Sire and Dam, and Pedigree information.
Anyone who is interested in possibly purchasing a puppy from us MUST fill out our Puppy Application. We will not accept any deposits until after the puppies are born, and we have had ample time to evaluate the entire litter. We prefer to wait until they are at least 14 days old and are moving around more, have their eyes open, and have had a couple of exams by our Vet. Once we have reached a verbal agreement, we will place a temporary hold on the puppy of your choice for 5 days to allow your deposit to reach us. If we do not receive your deposit within 5 days, the temporary hold will be lifted and the puppy will be made available to someone else. Deposits are $300, and are not refundable unless the puppy is injured, develops health problems, or dies before it leaves us to go to its new home. The balance of the purchase price is due before you receive your puppy. All puppies will be sold with a signed contract stating that if you ever decide that you can not keep this puppy for any reason then you must return the puppy to us, along with signing it’s AKC papers back over to us. So please be certain that you are ready to provide that “forever home” before you send your deposit. You are welcome to come here to pick your puppy up and meet the Sire and Dam in person, or we will be happy to meet you within a reasonable distance. We will also be happy to deliver your new puppy within a 4 hour radius of us. We would love to see the puppy’s new home and meet its new family in person! If distance is a problem, shipping is available as well (at the new owner's expense) through Delta or Northwest Airlines.
